Opening or modifying an account

1.How do I go about opening an account at the Laurentian Bank?

To open an account at the Laurentian Bank, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. You must be a Canadian resident (permanent resident visa or student visa) or be a landed immigrant.
  2. OR

  3. You must be a Canadian citizen and show two identification documents (one with a picture) as well as proof of residency. Please note that a passport is considered valid identification, but does not remove the obligation to produce a second identification document such as a birth certificate or a driver’s licence.
  4. You must then visit a branch near your residence or workplace with the above described identification

Please note that the Bank may request authorization to conduct a credit check.


2.How do I add or modify a banking package?

The Laurentian Bank offers a score of banking packages designed to meet the various client needs. For more information on our banking packages, follow these steps:

  1. Go to our website at www.laurentianbank.ca;
  2. Click on the “Tools” menu and choose item “Accounts and packages for all”.
  3. From that point, you may choose a plan, package or account that meets your consumer profile and needs.

Please note that choosing a banking package is not mandatory. You have the option to maintain a pay-as-you-go account.

Once you have targeted the desired package, send an email specifying the name of the selected package, your branch number, account number and suffix as well as the effective date of the package at the following address: courrier@banquelaurentienne.ca.
