Confirming your identity can be safe, quick and easy.
What is strong ID verification? It’s a secure way for you to prove your identity by taking a photo of your government-issued ID and yourself. When you open an account, you can confirm your identity using your photo ID. It’s quick, easy and secure.
How does it work?
1. Choose photo ID verification.
When you’re applying for a new account, you’ll be asked to confirm your identity.
2. Take a photo of your ID.
You have 20 minutes to take the photos. For now, we only accept valid Canadian government-issued identification, such as a driver’s licence or identification card. We’re working on adding more options. To get the best photos, take a photo of the front and back of your ID in landscape.
3. Take a photo of yourself.
We’ll match this photo to the one from your ID to confirm your identity. Rest assured we’ll keep your personal information secure.
4. Continue with your application.
That’s it! Once we’ve confirmed your identity, return to the ID verification page and you can continue with your application.
