Mandatory Rules Subject to applicable laws, these rules govern all aspects of the “Ambition into Action” contest and are binding on all entrants.
CONTEST DESCRIPTION AND DURATION The “Ambition into Action” contest is organized by Laurentian Bank of Canada (hereinafter the “contest organizer”) and will run from April 15 (12:01 a.m. EDT) to June 14, 2024 (11:59 p.m. EDT) (hereinafter the “contest period”).
ELIGIBILITY This contest is open to Quebec residents only. To be eligible for the contest, you must be: • 18 years of age or older at the time of the draw; • A resident of the province of Quebec on April 15, 2024; • A Personal Banking* client of Laurentian Bank of Canada (“Laurentian Bank”) or a client of LBC Financial Services Inc.**
* By definition, a Personal Banking client is a primary or secondary holder of at least one (1) Laurentian Bank product (as determined by Laurentian Bank at its sole and absolute discretion), and that product remains open throughout the contest period and at the time of the draw and awarding of prizes. A client must have received confirmation of account opening from an authorized Laurentian Bank representative.
** By definition, a client of LBC Financial Services Inc. (“LBCFS”) is a primary or secondary holder of at least one (1) eligible product, and that product remains open throughout the contest period and at the time of the draw and awarding of prizes. A client must have received confirmation of product opening† by an authorized LBCFS representative.

The following are not eligible for the contest:
Non-clients of Laurentian Bank and/or LBCFS;
Laurentian Bank and/or LBCFS clients who are not eligible entrants (as defined above);
Residents of other provinces of Canada;
Employees, representatives or agents of Laurentian Bank, LBCFS or any subsidiaries of these entities;
Advertising and promotional agencies;
Any person domiciled at the same address as the aforementioned persons and entities or those not dealing at arm’s length with any of these persons and entities.
4. HOW TO ENTER No purchase or consideration necessary. There are two (2) ways to enter for a chance to win one (1) prize valued at $5,000:
To be automatically entered (no entry form required):
1. Eligible entrants must have made an appointment and met with an advisor, either in person, virtually or by phone, between April 15 and June 14, 2024, to develop a plan to help them carry out their project. Following the appointment, the advisor will confirm the eligible entrant’s appointment in a confidential computer database. Entry in this database will grant one entry in the contest.

2. No in-person, virtual or telephone meeting with an advisor is required. You can enter by writing us a 50-word text answering the following question: “What project would you like to make a reality?” Then mail it to “Ambition into Action” Contest, 1360 boulevard René-Lévesque Ouest, 6th floor, Transit 1087, Montreal, Quebec H3G 0A8, including your first name, last name, age, mailing address, city, postal code, telephone number and email address (optional). To be added to the list of entrants, texts must be received by 5 p.m. EDT on June 14, 2024. Only one entry per address.
Limit of one (1) entry per eligible entrant, regardless of the entry method chosen.
5. PRIZES Three (3) $5,000 prizes will be offered for the entire contest period and will be randomly drawn from among eligible entrants who have met all the above entry requirements by the draw date detailed below.
Total value of prizes: $15,000.
Winners are solely responsible for any tax implications that may arise from the awarding of the prizes.
6. DRAW Three (3) random draws will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 11 a.m. (EDT) to determine the winners.
The electronic random draws will be conducted by the contest organizers at 1360 boulevard René-Lévesque, 11th floor, Montreal, Quebec, H3G 0A8, to select the three (3) contest winners from among the eligible entries received. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entrants during the contest period.
7. AWARDING OF PRIZES
Following the draw, entrants declared winners will be notified by telephone and/or email within ten (10) business days of the draw date. Depending on each winner’s choice, the prize valued at $5,000 will be deposited into the winner’s Laurentian Bank chequing or savings account, as applicable, within ten (10) days, or a cheque will be sent to the address confirmed at the time of being declared the winner within 40 days of the draw date.
Before being declared winners, randomly selected entrants must correctly answer a mathematical skill–testing question. Entrants who answer incorrectly will automatically be disqualified. Entrants who answer incorrectly or are ineligible for any other reason will forfeit their right to the prize. 7.1 To be declared a “confirmed winner,” an entrant must: 7.1.1 Be reached by telephone or email by the contest organizers within ten (10) days of the draw date set out in Section 6 of the rules. They must be reached within a maximum of three (3) attempts and will have ten (10) days to respond to any message left, failing which they will forfeit their right to the prize. 7.1.2 Meet the conditions set out in sections 3 and 4 of the rules. 7.1.3 Have correctly answered a mathematical skill–testing question posed by the contest organizers via the declaration and release form or by email. 7.1.4 Sign the declaration and release form sent by mail or email and return it to the contest organizers at the address provided, within ten (10) business days of the date it was sent.
7.2 Disqualification. If an entrant fails to comply with any of the above conditions or any other condition set out in these rules, they will automatically be disqualified and will not be eligible to receive any prize. In such a case, the contest organizer reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion, to randomly select another entrant following the same procedure until a winner has been determined or to cancel the prize.
7.3 Prize delivery. Upon receipt of the declaration and release form signed by the selected entrant, the contest organizer will contact the winner by email or telephone to inform them of how to take possession of their prize.
8. ACCEPTANCE OF THE PRIZE The prize must be accepted as described in these rules and may not be exchanged, transferred or sold, in whole or in part, to any other person.
9. EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY Laurentian Bank and LBCFS and their subsidiaries, the contest organizers and their authorized representatives assume no liability whatsoever in any case where their inability to act results from an event or situation beyond their control or from a strike, lockout or other labour dispute in their facilities, organizations or companies whose services are used to hold this contest.
10. MISCELLANEOUS The contest organizers, Laurentian Bank and LBCFS disclaim all liability for any loss or personal injury resulting from the awarding of the prizes in this contest. The contest rules are available at all branches and on the contest web page at www.laurentianbank.ca/en/personal/offers/ambition-into-action. Each winner’s first name, initial of their last name and place of residence will also be posted on this page.
11. ADVERTISING Each confirmed winner, by entering the contest, authorizes Laurentian Bank and LBCFS and their subsidiaries, the contest organizers and their agents to use their first name, initial of their last name, place of residence, the nature of the project they wish to carry out and their photo for advertising purposes, without compensation of any kind.
12. PERSONAL INFORMATION To enter the “Ambition into Action” contest, Laurentian Bank must collect, use and share personal information about you for identification, communication, administration and publication purposes (among others) and more specifically, to inform you that you have won a prize, if applicable, send you your prize and publish your first name, initial of your last name and city of residence. Laurentian Bank will share your information only when required by law, with its affiliates and members of its group or with service providers who are required to respect the confidentiality of your information in order to provide certain services when necessary. The personal information requested is collected and used solely for the purposes of the “Ambition into Action” contest. By entering the “Ambition into Action” contest, you consent to the collection by Laurentian Bank and LBCFS of your personal information mentioned above and to its use for the purposes of administering the “Ambition into Action” contest. You also expressly consent, if you win a prize, to have your first name, initial of your last name and city of residence posted on the Laurentian Bank website and/or social networks.
Social networks are provided by third parties and not by Laurentian Bank. Your relationship with a third-party social network provider is a separate relationship, independent of the relationship between you and Laurentian Bank, and is not within the control of Laurentian Bank. We make no representations or warranties to you regarding the collection, use or sharing of personal information by any third-party social network provider. You assume all risks associated with accessing or using social networks. Laurentian Bank will have no liability to you for any social networks or services provided by third parties.
By accepting the prize, subject to your consent, you authorize Laurentian Bank to share and disseminate, as required, your first name, initial of your last name, place of residence, project, photograph, image, voice or other representations or recordings (“Image”) on which the entry appears in connection with the contest for advertising or promotional purposes in any medium whatsoever (e.g., Laurentian Bank website, Facebook page), without remuneration, royalties or compensation of any kind. You irrevocably authorize Laurentian Bank to copy, edit, enhance, crop or otherwise modify any Image for use in its publications. You also waive any right to approve or inspect any Image. You assign the rights to use and reproduce, in whole or in part, the Images, visual and/or audio content captured by Laurentian Bank for the purposes of the contest.
You understand and agree that all Images are the property of Laurentian Bank and/or its third-party media agents (including but not limited to third-party newspapers) and will not be returned to you. You accept, release and forever discharge Laurentian Bank and its affiliates, members of its group, successors and assigns, officers, employees, representatives, associates, partners, agents, mandataries and any person claiming through them, individually and/or collectively, any liability, claim, obligation, promise, understanding, agreement, dispute, demand, damage (direct, indirect or moral) or cause of action of any kind whatsoever, known or unknown, that you, and any person claiming on your behalf, may have or claim to have against Laurentian Bank in connection with the Image, its use and the “Ambition into Action” contest.
13. CANCELLATION OR MODIFICATION OF THE CONTEST Laurentian Bank reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion, to modify, cancel, terminate or suspend the contest in whole or in part, without prior notice.
14. INTERPRETATION If there is a discrepancy between the French and English versions of the rules, the French version will prevail.
15. APPLICABLE LAWS The contest is subject to all applicable laws.
† New investment accounts are opened through LBC Financial Services Inc. (LBCFS), a subsidiary of Laurentian Bank. LBCFS is a legal entity distinct from Mackenzie Investments. Mutual funds and financial planning services are handled by LBCFS. The funds available are part of the range of Laurentian Bank mutual funds, managed by Mackenzie Investments.
